Magistrate Jacqueline M. Milledge

In 2005, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge, then the Deputy State Coroner, labelled as ‘disgraceful’ the police investigation into the deaths of three gay men: Ross Warren, John Russell and Giles Mattaini.

The coronial inquest was a watershed moment for many families and loved ones of victims and survivors as it marked the first time such deaths were ruled as the result of hate and violence.
